I had mention this book to all my friends because the stories are very safe for the children to read or read to. The book teaches a child a lesson in each story. It is written very noble and with lots of love for them to learn for one another.

Cartas a Clementina Otero
Published in Unknown Binding by Direcciâon de Difusiâon Cultural, Departamento Editorial, Universidad Autâonoma Metropolitana ()
Author: Gilberto Owen
Average review score:

Epistolario amoroso.

Depression and the Spiritual in Modern Art: Homage to Miró
Published in Hardcover by John Wiley & Sons (24 September, 1996)
Authors: Joseph J. Schildkraut and Aurora Otero
Average review score:

When science cross over the art...
J. Miro is a great modern artist, whose painting express many feelings. This book presents us to the Miro s biography and pictures. Going trough Miro and othes modern paintings paintings the author discuss depression and its expression in art. There are many paintings that express feelings as sadness (example Dali self report), anxiety , helplesness and fear (The Scream). One thing very interesting about this book is that the author mixed clinical features about depression and compare to art tecniques like what colour was used and why. This subjects leads us to K. G. Jung s theory about mind and expression on feelings and desires, he proposed a colective self, what justify why many different painters (and sculpters, writters,...) propose, in different cultures, the same way to express feelings, in this case depressive feelings. Talking about depression and art expression in this moment, going to the next millenium, is very important; after all, depression is the century desease - the first cause of working disability according to World Health Organization (1996) and, art expression is the way men talk to human heart and share theirs feelings.

The New World of Microenterprise Finance: Building Healthy Financial Institutions for the Poor
Published in Hardcover by Kumarian Press (March, 1994)
Authors: Maria Otero and Elisabeth Rhyne
Average review score:

You Must Read This Book!
Otero and Rhyne have done an admirable job of documenting recent advances in the field of microfinance. They combine a succinct and accessible writing style with lively case studies to (a) challenge pre-existing economic notions regarding microfinance, (b) present a model for evaluating microfinance programs, (c) discuss the legal environment for microfinance programs, and, (d) elaborate on alternative program design and delivery mechanisms to effectively reach poor clients. I found the case studies very helpful. Both laymen and specialists will benefit from the balanced, informed and painstaking research that has gone into writing this book. A must-read for development enthusiasts in general and microfinance fanatics in particular!

Passions and Impressions
Published in Paperback by Farrar Straus & Giroux (May, 1984)
Authors: Pablo Neruda, Miguel Otero Silva, and Matilde Neruda
Average review score:

A monumental prose testament by a great poet
"Passions and Impressions" brings together more than 100 short prose writings by the great Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. The collection has been edited by Matilde Neruda and Miguel Otero Silva. The pieces have been translated from Spanish into a wonderfully inviting English by Margaret Sayers Peden.

These essays and prose poems cover many topics: Chilean politics, history, and geography; the work of other creative minds, such as poet Walt Whitman, sculptor Alberto Sanchez, and painter Nemesio Antunez; and the art of poetry itself. Many of the selections are important historical documents of Neruda's own political struggles in Chile. Also included is his 1971 Nobel address, "Poetry Shall Not Have Sung in Vain."

I was particularly interested in Neruda's words of praise for other Latin American writers, such as Gabriela Mistral, the "magical" Julio Cortazar, and the "extraordinary" Mario Vargas Llosa. I was moved by his reflection on the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. And I was delighted by such personal memories as a feast of onion dishes on the island of Capri, or an emotional poetry reading in Temuco. There are also moments of humor, such as a priceless anecdote about Federico Garcia Lorca (in the essay "Latorre, Prado, and My Own Shadow").

In the essay "It Is Worthwhile to Have Lived, Because I Have Love" (included in this volume), Neruda declares, "Poetry will water the fields and give bread to the hungry." The writings of Pablo Neruda, both poetry and prose, have been both bread and water to the souls of people all over the world. His expansive vision truly embraced what he called the "universal struggle" of all women and men. He is an enduring poet/prophet, and "Passions and Impressions" is a magnificent testament.

Angela and Diabola
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Authors: Otero R and Lynne Reid Banks
Average review score:

Wonderful, Amazingly Funny Book!!!!!!!!!!
Angela and Diabola is not only a good book for girls, but also for boys with a good sense of imagination. The book ranges between nine-year-olds through eleven-year-olds. The main characters are two twin girls, Angela and Diabola. Though they are twins, they are nothing alike. Angela is described as a wonderful child spreading joy and happiness wherever she goes. While Diabola, well, let's just say that she is the exact opposite of her sister in every way possible. Their parents had always been able to handle the girls, both the good and the bad, until one day when Diabola does something that neither her parents nor her sister would ever imagine.
Angela and Diabola is a great fiction book with wonderful dialogue and text. One thing that I really like about it is that the beginning jumps right into the story. The book really held my interest throughout the whole story. Anyone who has a good imagination and likes a great fiction book will enjoy this book.

Good Twin, Bad Twin
This book is so cool! My friend gave it to me for Christmas when I was 8, and I have read it a lot of times. Okay, it's about these two twins, Angela and Diabola. Angela is named because she acts like an angel, and Diabola is named because she acts diabolic (evil). Lynnee Reid Banks (the author) is an excellent writer and the story is understandable, because I understanded when I was 8. Just read this book today! I'm sure you'll read other reviews and they'll tell ya more.

A good and very funny book!!!
I thought that ANGELA AND DIABOLA by Lynn Reid Banks was a good and funny book, because at some parts it makes me laugh and at others it's very exciting. The kind of reader that might enjoy this book is someone that likes adventure, excitement and funny books like me. You should read this book because it's about twins that don't seem anything alike. You shouldn't read this book if you don't like it. How you know you don't like it is if you don't like exciting, funny and adventurous books. Angela is one of the main characters and on of the twins, and is a sweet, kind and, can you believe when she was being born she wasn't crying at all, that can't be. She wasn't mean and loud. Diabola in the other hand was born crying, kicking fighting. She had teeth to bite the nurse's thumb and forefinger. Their parents they think that Angela is an angel and can get whatever she wants. Then comes Diabola. Their parents paid no attention to her at all. Their mother always has to deal with her. Not many times the dad. She doesn't like it at all. It's like the parents have chores going on and off taking care of Diabola. The author's settings are in a lot of places, such as the hospital where the twins were born, their house where the twins live and plenty of others. Also in the story Angela and Diabola oops... you'll have to find out when you read this great book. I would recommend ages 8 and over because that's the ages it would make sense to, but if you are younger you can ask your parents to read it to you. Other books by this author is THE INDIAN IN THE CUPBOARD, THE FAIRY REBAL, I HOUDINI, MAURA'S ANGEL and many other good books.
